My Students

My students are hardworking history and language arts scholars. They attend seventh grade at a middle school in Roseville, California, a city near Sacramento.

Some of my students are doing just fine financially, but some have trouble affording the kinds of supplies that the rest of us take for granted.

Any help they receive in the way of getting their hands on classroom staples like colored pencils will be greatly appreciated by everyone. Getting this project fulfilled will solve our colored-pencil problems for a long time into the future.

My Project

Colored pencils: they're a small thing, but they make a difference in our classroom. We use them all the time in history and language arts classes: we make maps; we design posters; we compile foldables that help us study for tests. Colored pencils help us bring these projects to life. We are an International Baccalaureate school with a strong arts program, and we try to include visual arts components in our assignments whenever possible. Most students take arts as an elective, and working art into other classes in the curriculum shows them that what they're learning in one class will be applicable in other parts of their lives.
