Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are energetic, curious, and eager to learn, but many come from low-income households and face barriers to accessing summer enrichment programs. As a Title I school, a majority of our families qualify for free or reduced-rate lunch, and opportunities for summer engagement are often limited.

Without structured summer programs, many of our students experience the “summer slide,” where academic skills decline.

More importantly, they miss out on safe spaces where they can build friendships, confidence, and creativity.

Our summer camp is more than childcare; it’s a place where students feel supported, inspired, and valued.

Our Title I summer camp provides a safe, enriching space where students can continue learning, exploring, and growing during the summer months. We serve students who may not otherwise have access to engaging educational and recreational opportunities outside of school.

With your support, we will provide essential supplies that make our camp both fun and meaningful, hands-on learning materials, creative art supplies, and structured activity items that keep students engaged, supported, and excited to learn.

Our summer camp is designed to blend learning with fun through daily activities in literacy, art, and social-emotional learning. To make this possible, we need supplies that will help us create a vibrant and engaging environment.

We are requesting materials such as:

Creative Arts and crafts supplies (paper, markers, paint, glue)

Basic classroom organization supplies

Outdoor Play

These supplies will help us:

Prevent summer learning loss

Encourage creativity and exploration

Support social-emotional growth

Provide a safe, structured environment

Build positive relationships among peers

These resources will allow us to provide hands-on, interactive experiences that keep students actively engaged throughout the day.
