My Students

I am a kindergarten teacher with 30 students in the classroom. For most of my students it is their first year in school, especially because of the COVID-19 shutdowns. Kindergarten is a very crucial year for all students. It is where their foundation and enjoyment of learning is discovered.

I love how my students are so excited about learning.

For some students, school is the only place where they have access to books. They love looking at the pictures, identifying words that they have learned and even begin to read stories. I would love for my kindergarteners to have a wide variety of books to look at when they are at the classroom library.

My Project

My students will be able to choose books that they would like to read. The books I've requested all have my students' interests in mind.

As students read more and more, they will increase their reading fluency skills.

My students love listening to stories and are very eager to learn how to read. This project will really make their reading experience more enjoyable.

My students will be so excited to get their hands on a variety of stories that will build their social-emotional skills, understand diversity and just get lost in reading.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
