Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in need of a reading center to help them practice phonemic awareness, vocabulary development and comprehension skills with the on demand assistance only a Tag School Reader can deliver.

My kindergarten students have found a new love for books now that they are able to blend and decode words.

They look forward to story time and love using our classroom library during center time. My students attend a Title 1 school and come from low income households. They are English Language Learners and most of them don't get to practice their reading skills at home. They don't have access to books or simply can't get help from their parents due to the fact that they don't know English.

My Project

My little eager readers will benefit from the Tag School Reader by having access to the on demand assistance they need as beginning readers. It will give them the opportunity to hear the story read to them aloud or they can touch a single word with the hand held learning tool to hear the pronunciation. The students will also be able to practice vocabulary development, phonemic awareness, and comprehension skills.

I believe this reading center will bring the much needed reading practice to my students in a fun and interactive way.

It will encourage my struggling students to know that they will get help when they need it and give them that boost of confidence to further foster their reading skills. Please consider helping our young minds develop a love for reading.
