My Students

As I look ahead to what next year will look like, there are still many uncertainties. One guarantee is that I will have the wonderful opportunity of welcoming a new group of learners into our classroom family, no matter where we are learning from! I am excited about the possibilities, adventures, learning, and creative moments that we will share together. Our district is still in the midst, as many are, of trying to make a decision about what learning will look like in the Fall and beyond. We may be a mix of a in person and online learning, or all online, or in person with regulations and different practices designed to keep us all safe. We are fortunate to be able to provide technology for our students who need it, and were able to keep feeding all students through the end of the school year and into the summer! Meeting basic needs is such an important thing, and I'm so thankful and lucky to live in a community that is so supportive!

My Project

Books are one of the best tools available to build and share ideas and learn new information. During distance learning, students had many questions about what was happening and when we could return to school.

Finding ways to have discussions with children who are curious, scared, confused, and wondering about the virus, masks, and the current changes in our world will be more effective with these books.

As we continue to Zoom together, use Seesaw, and learn remotely, these texts will be utilized by me at home to teach and share with my students and their families. There's still lots of unknowns in terms of whats to come in the future, but I want to be proactive in having resources and tools available through these read aloud texts to share with my students to help ease their fears and feel more comfortable.
