My Students

I teach sixth grade ELA at an amazing school! My classroom is a place for students to gather, read, write and collaborate.

Driven, enthusiastic, and hard-working; my students are always up for a challenge!

They consistently prove that they are capable of great things. My sixth graders have been through a lot of changes over the last two years, and have persevered and proven that they can overcome any challenge they put their minds to. Always looking for ways to help others in our school community, my sixth graders are truly deserving of all that this world has to offer.

My Project

Creating a literacy-rich environment is one of my top priorities as an educator! Building and maintaining a strong classroom library is an essential component in making such an environment possible.

I believe all students should have books at their fingertips that represent them, engage them, and influence them to learn and grow!

Enthusiasm for reading begins with a great book. My students are given 20 minutes a day to read a text of their choice. By building up my classroom library, I will be able to provide each and every one of them with a book that meets their needs and sparks their interest. Having the opportunity to choose their own texts will enhance engagement in all students!
