Books to Expand Classroom Library

My students need books for the class library. They will be able to choose freely from this list and will be rewarded for reading what interests them.

This project expired on July 13, 2017.

My Students

I teach four sections of 9th grade world history and one section of 12th grade government. Exposure to the outside world is in short supply and one of the best ways to gain this exposure is through books. I'm hoping to build my classroom library with historical fiction and interesting non-fiction books that the kids can use. I'm going to offer incentives for kids that read these books and hopefully create an atmosphere where reading is "cool." I need all the help I can get.

The class library books need to pull my students in and excite their curiosity.

I know with the right funds I can gather these books and provide students with the resources they need to understand the world around them. I sincerely appreciate you help and look forward to stocking the library.

My Project

Students need to read and expand their horizons. Often times those books are too far out of reach. I hope to change that with my class library which I am improving with these books. Your help is greatly appreciated in getting great historical fiction and non-fiction into the hands of students at my school.

One of the reasons I'm so concerned with historical works is that, especially now, these topics and an understanding of our world is vital.

I hope to impart these issues to my students inside the classroom but also give them books that can support the issues we bring up in class when they are at home.

As students begin to read the books they will be offered extra credit for completing the books. Hopefully students will start a trend of reading more and more. Then I'll need to come back for more books. This is a start.
