My Students

The students in my classroom are 9 and 10 year old boys and girls who are as different as different can be! They are kind students who ask great questions and are eager to know more.

One thing thing that they have in common is their love for GREAT BOOKS!

We spend as many minutes as possible reading. Students read on their own, in small groups and with partners. We meet regularly to talk about the books that we read.

My Project

No classroom supply is more important than good books. Books are the vessel that can take every child to any place they want to go. No matter their background, socioeconomic status, home-life or past experiences, books always give kids the opportunity to escape and explore the world around them.

There is nothing like new books in the classroom.

Having a wide variety of books available to meet the diverse needs of students is something that teachers need to continually pursue. Most schools do not provide a budget for books. What a pleasant surprise for my students when their big box of books arrives!
