My Students

My class is primarily composed of students who are English Language Learners and students who need support with reading. We need more engaging reading activities and materials!

My class is comprised of beginning English Language Learners, special education students, and students who need reading support.

They are so enthusiastic about learning and about reading. I want to provide engaging activities for my students to extend their learning and to make connections with text.

My Project

These resources would provide my English Language Learners opportunities to listen and read. The listening library would help their development of English and support the development of fluency and phrasing. The Time for Kids subscription would challenge my on grade level students to make "beyond the text" connections, which is a very difficult skill to develop. As a class, my students would be engaged and motivated by these resources which will help develop confidence and eagerness to learn.

These resources would motivate and engage my students in learning.

These materials would also teach the specific foundational language and reading skills for 1st Grade. Furthermore, having these tools would allow my students to take pride and ownership in our classroom because funding is limited at school and since most students come from low income families.
