My students are such an example of kindness, inclusivity, thoughtfulness, and family mentality. It is such a joy to watch them grow as a classroom family this school year. I have been blessed with kind, selfless, and thoughtful group of children.

My Project
First grade is bursting with exciting foundational literacy skills. Not only have my students learned to read, but they have also learned to LOVE to read. The love of reading progresses throughout the year until finally, students are reading to learn and for enjoyment. It is amazing to watch such growth happen in first grade.
Many of my students are from socioeconomically challenged homes.
My classroom, the school library, and the public library were there only access to books most of my students had. Sadly, these are now all closed. Research has shown that access to as few as 20 books in the home greatly increases a child’s academic success rate.
Thank you for helping me provide three to four books to each of my students so they can continue their love of reading while learning remotely. These are opportunities many of these students will not otherwise have. I simply cannot thank YOU enough!
