My Students

I love teaching reading! Students come to me at all levels of skills and interests and it is my job to tap into their abilities and desires to create a lifelong love of reading. I believe reading is the gateway to a happy life. I do not just teach students how to read, but to love reading. There is no such thing as a person who does not love to read, just someone who has not found the right book!

I believe reading can happen with physical copies of book but also in digital ways.

I want my students to be able to access books in all their forms.

My Project

It is extremely important that students have a wide variety of books. Utah State Standards give students opportunities to cite evidence to infer, central theme and idea, and ways the author moves the plot forward. Having a variety of books and all levels will help me make this standard accessible to all students. When books are high interest, students will more likely learn to love the act of reading and thus making comprehension of text easier.

Students need to love reading to be lifelong learners.

Making sure students have access to books, both digital and physical copies will ensure they have the proper resources to learn the state standards of reading.
