It is extremely important that students have a wide variety of books. Utah State Standards give students opportunities to cite evidence to infer, central theme and idea, and ways the author moves the plot forward. Having a variety of books and all levels will help me make this standard accessible to all students. When books are high interest, students will more likely learn to love the act of reading and thus making comprehension of text easier. Students need to love reading to be lifelong learners. Making sure students have access to books, both digital and physical copies will ensure they have the proper resources to learn the state standards of reading.
