Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

All my 3rd-grade kiddos love a good, purposeful, and fun read-aloud. Every single day, the students eagerly ask me what book we will be reading today. This is one of our favorite times of the day! However, as a first-year teacher, I have found it difficult to diversify and expand my read-aloud books. I have resorted to having them listen to a read-aloud, but I would love to immerse them into the stories by reading the story to them directly.

With your help, I will be able to give all of my students an immersive read-aloud experience that will continue to grow their love for reading.

At the same time, I will support my English language learners in listening to books in both their native language and the language they are learning.

All of the books I have listed in this project encompass my students' interests, cultures, languages, experiences, and more. Some of these books have even been requested by my students! I would love nothing more than to surprise them with the books they’ve been wanting to read for a long time. Thank you so much for your time!
