My Students

We are a group of English Language Learners who are fantastic first grade students. We attend an elementary school in Burbank, CA. We work diligently in class and we really love to learn about the world around us. Language Arts, Math Science and Social Studies are topics that really interest us but sometimes the vocabulary of the topics can be difficult to grasp and understand. We are excited to have books that are at our level with lots of photographs and charts that help us relate and comprehend the meaning of the various topics we are learning in school.

My Project

These books will help my first grade students have a better grasp of historical figures, scientific facts and different literature styles. My classroom consists of second language learners and these books will help them understand and grasp the standards that are aligned to our grade level. These books are full of photographs and are leveled so that my students will be able to decode the text and comprehend what they are reading. These books will help my students achieve, meet the standards and get excited about school and learning. Children love to have books that are at a level they can read and understand. It builds confidence and a desire for knowledge.
