My Project

I teach fifth graders in Las Vegas, Nevada. One would think that a large city would provide a great deal of diversity for its population. My students, however, have a very small scope into the real world. I want my students to read books that will open their eyes to all the world has to offer. My students have become great readers, and they are in need of books to help them understand the world around them. I would like to have books that will hold their interests and keep them reading in my classroom.

We want to read books that can widen our vision, and also help us to grow empathy for ourselves and others.

I want to send my students to Middle School as the best humans they can possibly be. Reading books that are windows for them will help them be more accepting.
