Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

There are many children with medical needs that come from diverse backgrounds, cultures and socioeconomic situations.

They are in need of a variety of medical procedures and monitoring.

They are in the health office daily for these procedures. They include catheterizations, breathing treatments as well as general first aid. In addition, I go into individual classrooms as needed to provide our students health needs. We are available at any time for emergencies as well as non-emergencies.

My Project

Pre-school students come into our health office for a variety of needs. Some are scared or hurt. We try to provide a child friendly environment.

The books and music would help the children during procedures that may be painful and may help the child to not be as afraid.

Children also learn while they are with the health staff. The child will be able to look at the book and listen to the stories, while the staff provides necessary medical treatments and procedures. They are also still in a learning environment and hopefully not as frightened. So next time they need to come to our office, they will remember the good books and stories.
