Books and Games for Little Learners

Help me give my students books that teach our kindergarten curriculum as well as puzzles and games to help with learning crucial reading and math skills.

My Students

I have 20 Kindergarten students that come from a very small and close-knit community on the South side of Utah Valley. Many of them come from low-income backgrounds, however, this does not define them. They are curious about the world around them. They love to learn, discover and create. While each one of them is unique, most of my students respond well to games, technology, engaging lessons, and hands-on experiences. They are a very social and friendly group of kids who work together to achieve.

My students are able to rise to high expectations and I know that when given the opportunity, each one of them can be successful and become the best that they can be.

As a teacher, my students inspire me, which is why I do the job I do!

My Project

Teaching through a pandemic has been tough. With how often students are at home on quarantine, I am working tirelessly to get my students caught up to where they need to be. My kindergarteners are growing their problem-solving and reading skills. These resources will be used every day during our morning routine, centers or small groups to help develop these skills and minimize interrupted learning as a result of COVID-19.

My project is full of books and literacy games that will help fill the holes that have been created because of absences due to the pandemic.

Little learners need to hear books being read to them. Our classroom is in need of many books to support our science and social studies curriculum. The books in this project will help me reach each kindergarten standard and personalize instruction for my students. Little learners also need hands-on activities to practice reading and math skills. I know my students would love the fun games that allow them to explore each concept.
