My Project

I am excited to introduce my new DonorsChoose project, Book Buddies, which aims to simultaneously foster exemplary behavior and cultivate a profound love for learning among my students. Each week in our classroom, we engage with a carefully selected piece of children's literature designed to enrich vocabulary knowledge and enhance comprehension skills. This initiative seeks to elevate our reading experience by providing one plush toy for each book we read, thereby increasing student engagement during our special read-aloud sessions.

The concept of utilizing plush toys serves as a tangible connection to the stories we explore, allowing students to form a deeper emotional bond with the literature.

Every day, I will select a student who demonstrates outstanding behavior to hold the plush toy, instilling a sense of responsibility and pride in their actions. This practice not only rewards positive behavior but also encourages all students to strive for excellence in their conduct.

By integrating these plush toys into our reading activities, we aim to create an enriching environment that enhances our comprehension skills through interactive and enjoyable experiences. The presence of these plush companions will make our read-aloud time even more special, as students will feel motivated to engage actively with the text and contribute to discussions.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for considering a donation to this project.
