Most of my students are from low-income households. Yet the obstacles they face, they remain eager learners with a desire to absorb as much as they can from their surroundings. As a teacher, I want to create an enriched environment that provides them with a wide range of opportunities.
My students enthusiastically look forward to different hands-on activities, using manipulatives, creating crafts, communicating, and collaborating with their peers.
They are a bright group of students who look forward to school each day.
I got my book bins from a previous teacher who left them in my room. I have used these for the past couple of years and some of them are cracked with daily use. My students need the bins to store their reading books and journals. Our classroom also needs a printer to print the projects that my third grade students work on. For example, they worked on an autobiographical poem as a Google Classroom assignment. The poem was written in a word document with colored fonts and images. Funding is limited in our district, so our school has a no-color copy policy. I could not print those beautiful poems in color to display in our classroom during open-house. Printing material will also help me further decorate the classroom.
