This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Boogie Blooms is a STE(A)M classroom in a Bronx, NY located, District 75 school that services students with severe disabilities with a focus on agriculture and self-sustainability. We aim to offer our students experiences that are not only inclusive but also purposeful to strengthen functional and academic goals that are vital to increasing their independence in a constantly changing world.

The "Spice is Nice" project will offer students the opportunity to use herbs and spices grown in our hydroponics lab and process them using a dehydrator to then weigh, bottle, and design their own logo, ad/flyer, and even a commercial!

This activity will help students understand how food can be grown anywhere as well as used in a variety of different ways to flavor other foods. It will also help students learn entrepreneurial, money, literacy, social skills and so much more!

This project will reach over 100 students and will provide them with an experience like none other. If you decide to donate, you will be aiding in the support and education of students who would normally not be given this opportunity. You will be giving them a chance to learn skills and grow exponentially while working on a meaningful hands-on project.
