My Project

My students enjoy playing games while we work on their speech/language goals. They are more engaged, therefore successful, while having fun, rather than being drilled.

Board games teach children so many different skills-expressive/receptive/pragmatic language, social emotional, cognitive, etc.

Studies have shown that children learn and retain more information through play, rather than worksheets or drilling over facts. If it fun they are more willing to participate.

My goal for this project is to expand the number and variety of games I can offer my students. My students love routines, but they also enjoy trying new things.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
