Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
These books will help my students have an interest in reading. I have realized most students come into the Pre-K classroom not knowing how to hold a book or how to care for them. Giving the students board books will be beneficial for them because they are going to be able to understand how a book works! They are easily going to be able to turn the pages, the pages will not rip like a regular book, and the students will be able to pay attention to what is going on in the book with ease. The students will be able to turn the pages easily, without getting frustrated about the pages sticking together or being difficult to turn. All in all board books are a perfect fit for Pre-K students because they are more durable and the students will be able to enjoy them for much longer.
Bringing board books into our Pre-K classroom will help my students grow an interest for reading that will hopefully last a lifetime.
We love our library corner and incorporate it in learning areas for enjoyment of reading, writing, and searching for different things like animals and letters. Our library is an important part of our classroom and is used on a daily basis. By providing the students books that are easier for them to handle, it will help will decrease the frustration or boredom and instead add more enjoyment to my students.
