Block That Blue Light!

Help me give my students blue light blocking glasses to reduce eye strain and allow them to focus on the screen.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a very diverse, Title I-funded school in the inner city, which serves students in grades preK-5 and provides rigorous academics and a safe learning environment. All children receive free breakfast and lunch due to this neighborhood's socioeconomic status.

Now, because of COVID-19, my students are trying to continue their in-person learning, after a year of remote learning.

My students come from a wonderful mix of ethnic and economic backgrounds, and despite any challenges that my students may face, they come to school daily prepared to do their best.

My students are creative, curious, and motivated. They are full of energy and deserve to have access to all the materials necessary to be successful.

My students truly inspire me with their passion and insatiable love for learning.

My Project

Over the last two years, my students have juggled in person learning, online learning, and hybrid learning. No matter where they are learning, they have to use their iPads. My students use their iPads daily for Seesaw activities, Google assignments, and completing online assessments.

I am requesting blue light blocking glasses for each of my first graders so they can continue to learn in-person while using their iPads.

These glasses may help to reduce eye strain so that my students can focus on their screens. They will use these glasses when they are using their devices in class and to complete their homework and other assignments.

Please help me provide all of my students with these blue light blocking glasses.
