Help me give my students the ability to build words with unifix cubes. Since we are virtual, each student will need a set of unifix cubes to build rhyming words as well as words with blends and digraphs.
The inclusion classroom setting is a unique group of students with multiple learning needs. There are general education students as well as special education students in the classroom. The goal is to provide a safe and caring environment for their learning as well as a sense of community. My classroom is in a Title I school where 100% of students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My students are eager to learn and try their best while overcoming their learning disabilities.
I want to give my students every opportunity to succeed and feel successful despite their learning disabilities. This means providing activities that cover the different learning modalities of each student. Our classroom is full of laughter and fun as we celebrate everyone's achievement. We "ROAR" (Read Often And Rise) with pride.
My Project
I am so excited about these materials. The unifix cubes will help the students build words. We will use the red unifix cubes for vowels. I will label the red unifix cubes with the vowel letters. Blue unifix cubes will be used for consonant letters. Yellow represents digraphs so that the student will have to slow down and make the new sound created by the digraph. Green represents the blends where the student can go ahead and blend the two sounds together.
My students will use the unifix cubes to build the words for the items in the tubs.
The tubs will help engage the students virtually by actually seeing items that represent rhyming words as well as words with blends and digraphs.
