This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a wonderful group of students who are phenomenal artists and creators. These students are extremely special and incredibly smart. They are able to take an idea and put it on paper, creating a full storyline and character development.

They are the authors and illustrators of their own stories.

They work very hard all year long to bring their ideas to life. My students work in a project-base way, where they are the masterminds of their own master piece. An incredible way to integrate their abilities by becoming authors and illustrators.

My Project

Students create their own graphic novels by working independently and collaboratively to create their storylines and illustrations. The art supplies will allow the students the ability to design their graphic novels.

Teachers are only facilitators as all work is student designed, and brought to life by their imagination.

Working in this way, students are more interested and passionate about learning the read/write connection in non-conventional ways by adding imagination and art. Using the sketch paper and pencils, they can bring their art to life. Project-Based Learning allows for students to create, skill build, collaborate, and write to create products worthy of exhibiting.
