Blaring Bari Sax

Help me give my students supplies for the shared Bari Sax in HS band.

My Project

I have a small high school band of 16 students in grades 8-12. Several play alto saxophone as it is a more affordable instrument than the baritone saxophone (which can cost about $10,000 for a high quality new instrument), which is much larger, and deeper sounding. The school owns a bari, but students must share. Already, through your generous help, we have received 2 new baritone sax mouthpieces and ligatures to help students share without fear of sharing germs.

But getting that was just the start of what is needed in order to help kids play the baritone sax and keep the baritone saxophone safe.

The baritone sax stand will help the students have a place to put the saxophone between playing it or handing it off to someone else instead of laying it on its side and damaging keys and the bell. Harnesses make wearing the bari sax safer and more comfortable than just a normal saxophone neck strap (it's heavy!). Each student also needs their own reeds. With the production of synthetic reeds, students don't have to wait for the reed to get wet in order to make a sound, making switches in a concert much easier. Your donation towards reeds also saves a student from spending up to $10 a reed, which only lasts a month or so. Thank you for considering helping our students as we make music for everyone!
