My Project

Black History Month was created by Carter G. Woodson in 1926. He aimed to combat racism by educating white students about black contributions to American life which were commonly downplayed, ignored or hidden.

Encouraging our students to participate and learn cultural pride and social emotional learning skills are so important for todays learners.

Using literacy and positive encouragement are what our students need to be successful. Vocabulary development is key to not only learning to read but reading to learn.

Using these resources will help strengthen literacy and SEL skills.
