Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work at a diverse, inner-city K-8 school where all of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of cuddling up with a good book. I hope to instill a lifelong love of reading and learning by sharing books that capture children's attention, spark their imaginations, and promote a deeper understanding of the world around them.

By having books that honor black history and showcase black role models, children will feel included, and empowered, and grow up accepting and respecting everyone.

Multicultural books promote a lifelong love of reading, learning, and celebrating our similarities and differences! Books can be a gateway to discussions on race as well as teach kindness, inclusion, and the importance of diversity.

These beautifully written and illustrated books will be added to our school library to be read during whole group story time as well as be available for independent reading.

Thank you for making a positive impact on the lives and learning of kids!
