Thanks to your generosity, my students now have access to comfortable floor seating, which has created a more relaxed, inviting, and student-centered learning environment.\r\n\r\nFrom the very first day, the excitement was undeniable. When students walked in and saw the new floor seats, there were smiles, gasps, and so many eager questions. They immediately felt a sense of ownership and pride in our classroom space. What stood out most was how naturally they respected the materials—they understood this was something special made possible just for them.\r\n\r\nWe use the floor seating every day across subjects. During independent reading, students spread out with their books, fully engaged and comfortable, which has noticeably increased their stamina and focus. One moment that really stood out was during a recent writing lesson. Students chose their floor spots, grabbed clipboards, and worked on their personal narratives. I saw students who typically struggle to stay focused remain engaged for longer periods, producing some of their best writing so far this year. The flexible seating has given them the freedom to choose a space that helps them do their best thinking.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are continuing to build on this sense of independence and engagement. Students are currently working on expanding their writing pieces by adding more detailed evidence and revising their drafts. The flexible seating will continue to support small group work, peer collaboration, and quiet reflection time as we move into our next unit.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, our classroom is not just a place where students learn—it's a place where they feel comfortable, empowered, and excited to grow.
