They were excited to talk about the story, make predictions, and share their favorite parts with one another. It was especially wonderful to see students who sometimes struggle with reading become so interested in a book that they couldn't wait to find out what happened next.\r\n\r\nOne part that really stood out to us was seeing how people came together during such a difficult time. The story gave us a chance to talk about how, even when things are scary or uncertain, people can help one another and come together as a community. Our students connected with that idea and had some really thoughtful conversations about kindness, courage, and helping others.\r\n\r\nThe HILO books have also given our students another fun and engaging choice when they are looking for something to read.
