My Project

Each year Maryland selects books for all age ranges of children that go through a selection process and are nominated for their outstanding qualities. Each year students get excited to see the new books that come out on the list. I would like to provide the students with some of the sections from the Middle Grades category. These books will also include graphic novels and materials to help student annotate what they read like new pens and post-its.

Students love reading new books that they can then pass along and share with friends.

It's this very reason that I am seeking some new Black Eyed Susan-nominated books to share with my students. These items will inspire and encourage my students to grow in their reading journey. They will also help students discuss the texts and share them with others by annotating with colored pens and Post-its.

My goal is for students to continue to read more and more. I want them to find joy and share joy in reading. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and have a variety of needs. Having new texts to share and encourage my students will be amazing, especially at the end of the school year when motivation can be a major challenge!
