Students are not just learning about technology — they are becoming designers, problem-solvers, creators, and innovators. Students can now print on our Bambu Lab P1S printer while selecting the colors they wish to use to see their creations come to life in vibrant and meaningful ways. The ability to print in multiple colors allows students to better personalize projects, communicate ideas visually, and take even greater ownership of the design process.\r\n\r\nOur students are using 3D design to connect learning across subjects in exciting ways. They are creating kindness keychains, engineering prototypes, book-inspired models, school spirit items, assistive designs, and collaborative makerspace projects that encourage creativity and critical thinking. For many students, seeing an idea go from a sketch or digital design to a real physical object is a powerful confidence-building experience.\r\n\r\nAs a rural school serving many students from low-income households, access to advanced technology like this helps level the playing field and opens doors to future opportunities in STEAM fields, design, engineering, and digital fabrication. The excitement this printer has already generated in our library has been incredible. Students are asking questions, experimenting, revising designs, and learning through authentic, hands-on experiences.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped transform our library into a future-ready learning space where students can dream bigger, create boldly, and learn by doing.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students, our makerspace, and the future of creativity and innovation at Snow Hill Middle School. When I announced to the students at the end of last week that the project had been funded, they were SO excited! I have let them look through the books and they have started selecting which one they want to read first, it seems like students really like \"The Giver\" graphic novel on first looks! The cool thing about that is, they can also read the novel when they are finished the graphic novel. \r\nRight now, students will be reading the novels during warm-up time and at home if they check the books out from our classroom library. Then they will share the books with others when finished and we plan to vote on our favorite next month to celebrate the last month of school! \r\nReading in our classroom looks like learning, relaxing, and sharing our knowledge. It is so much fun to see students get excited about books and share them with classmates and friends. I love that they recommend books to others and chat about the books, it's so inspiring, and would not at all be possible without you! They are learning how to plan, revise, and bring their ideas to life.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting addition has been the ability to print in multiple colors. This has taken student engagement to a new level. Students are now thinking more creatively about their designs—adding detail, meaning, and personality to everything they create. Seeing their ideas come to life exactly as they imagined builds pride, confidence, and excitement for learning.\r\n\r\nWhat's been most powerful is how this technology reaches all learners. This project has created so much excitement in all of my classes. Yesterday we used the new colored pencil sharpener to create an illustration project. We just read the play version of \"A Wrinkle in Time\" and students were asked to illustrate their favorite scene from the play. They had so much fun! And having the sharpener made it so much better! \r\nStudents have also been enjoying the new books and bookmarks. Everyone wants the scented bookmarks and they want to compare the scents. It has really made our reading warm-up lots of fun. \r\nThey have been so excited about the new supplies and it has really motivated a lot of students to work hard this past week. Having sharp pencils, bookmarks, new books, and the iPad chargers has made things so exciting and easy this week. We have not had to worry about student iPads dying while students are working. This has been really helpful since students are currently working on a story writing project. They have to use one or more characters from \"A Wrinkle in Time\" and create an original story. It is really a lot of fun! \r\nThank you very much for making this whole thing possible. They've been a game-changer for engagement—students love being able to quickly solve problems, share their thinking, and make corrections without fear of making mistakes. One of my favorite moments was during a a mini lesson I had some students who are usually more quiet and reserved volunteer their answer because they wrote so much on their white board and they were proud. \r\n The lamination materials have allowed me to create durable, reusable station activities that support hands-on learning. Students rotate through stations practicing skills like reading comprehension, word work, and and more.
