Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The best way to connect kids to reading is to build on their passions and interests. I want my students to have the opportunity to fall in love with reading through the use of biographies. Incredible biographies will serve my reluctant readers and get them engaged with learning! I want to continue adding more amazing titles to our classroom library.

The school is made up of a very diverse ethnic population with a high concentration of English language learners.

My students work hard and they are eager and excited to learn.

Our school is designated a Title I school where the majority of the students are educationally at-risk and come from low-income families. These kids have fewer reading experiences because they have less access to books.

My Project

I am requesting books that will make a difference in my students' lives. The goal is to improve and promote literacy in my class. Also, I want my students to build a love for reading by continuing to advance their reading skills through books that are engaging and of high interest.

This project will provide a very positive and fun experience for kids that are in need of real-life heroes.

Biographies will teach my kids about teamwork, determination, patience, character, and life. My students need to see that they can overcome obstacles and persevere!

This project will provide a literature-rich environment that will support the needs of all my students. Most importantly, these books will help my students discover the joy of reading and to dream big!

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
