Biodiversity Up Close and Personal!

Help me give my students the experience of ecosystems inside our own classroom. They will have a better understanding, first-hand, of how organisms interact with other organisms within an ecosystem.

My Project

Students will learn about several common ecosystems and some of the factors that make them similar and different from each other. They will observe how living and nonliving parts of an ecosystem are interconnected and are essential for the ecosystem to survive. Having these items in my classroom with help students understand ecosystems first-hand.

Biodiversity is our most valuable but least appreciated resource.

Playing an ecosystem game where students create an ecosystem will help them understand how organisms interact with each other. They will learn that some animals add points and others that harm their ecosystem will take points away. This will allow them to analyze the interdependent relationships of living organisms within their environments.

I can't wait to see them play the game and create unique ecosystems of their own.
