This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 30 enthusiastic learners that love learning! We are a Title I school in a low socioeconomic neighborhood with limited resources. 100% of our students receive free lunches. The majority of my students are English Language Learners with a lot of curiosity and great ideas. They come from hard-working families that have at least two jobs. My students need the right resources and tools to help them master the academic standards in all areas and become successful scholars. Many of my students lack the much-needed resources to start the school year off right as well as necessary materials to complete assignments/projects at home.

My Project

My first grade students all need a one inch binder and pencil pouches to ensure that organizational skills are developed at an early age. They need a place to store their school planners, along with homework, review sheets, high frequency words, math facts and student anchor charts.

The pencil pouches and one inch binders will ensure that basic supplies and communication between school and home is kept in a safe place that is readily available to my students and parents as the year goes by.

I plan to use the pencil pouches and binders on a daily basis as my students develop their organizational skills throughout the year.
