These new texts have opened the door to important early-reading skills such as recognizing sight words, building fluency, and developing comprehension through picture clues and simple story structures. Because the books are engaging and accessible, my students are gaining confidence as they practice sounding out words, retelling stories, and exploring new vocabulary in a way that feels exciting rather than intimidating.\r\nReading time in our classroom has quickly become one of the most joyful parts of the day. Students choose books that match their interests—animals, silly stories, friendship tales—and settle into cozy corners of the room to read independently or with a partner. I've noticed that they are not only reading more, but also talking more about what they read, asking thoughtful questions, and making connections to their own lives. The library has truly become a space where curiosity and imagination thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1761141051343,"projectUrl":"project/book-corner/9784744/","projectTitle":"Book Corner","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Contreras","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10064811"},{"teacherId":10064811,"projectId":9737446,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our classroom has become a more nurturing and engaging space for my 12 amazing SDC students. The snacks you provided have made a tremendous difference in our daily routine. Many of my students come to school without having eaten breakfast and are often still hungry after lunch. These snacks have helped them stay focused, feel cared for, and be ready to learn throughout the day. Simply put, you've helped remove a barrier to their learning—and that's priceless.\r\nOne special moment I'll never forget was the first day we introduced the magnetic toy set in our calming corner. The students' eyes lit up with curiosity and excitement! One student, who usually has a hard time engaging, spent nearly 5minutes quietly building towers and shapes. It was a beautiful moment of peace, creativity, and concentration. These toys have become a favorite tool in our calming corner, giving students a hands-on way to reset, regulate their emotions, and return to class ready to participate.\r\nWe're currently working on a project around \"building and creating,\" and the magnetic toy set has become an important part of that. Students are practicing problem-solving, teamwork, and communication as they work together to build different structures. It's incredible to watch them explore and learn through play.\r\nThank you again for being part of our classroom. Students use them during Fun Fridays and as an activity when they finish their work early. They've been a great way to encourage social interaction, teamwork, and strategic thinking in a fun, low-pressure environment. When the games first arrived, the students were so excited, many couldn't believe we had so many new options to choose from. There was a lot of buzz as they eagerly picked out which games to try first. As we continue working through the year, the games will remain a fun reward and a great way to build classroom community while supporting positive behavior and engagement.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generous support! Your donation brought so much joy into our classroom and gave my students something they truly look forward to. This new resource has brought so much excitement and creativity into our classroom. My students were amazed when they first saw the Cricut and learned about all the different things we could create with it. They were especially excited to see their ideas turn into real designs that we could use and display around our classroom.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the Cricut to create materials that make our learning more engaging and hands-on. One of my favorite moments was watching the students see a design being cut for the first time. They were fascinated by the process and couldn't wait to see the finished product. The Cricut has allowed us to add a creative element to our classroom projects and has helped students take even more pride in their work.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue incorporating the Cricut into classroom lessons, projects, and displays. Students will have opportunities to help create materials connected to what we are learning and use their creativity to make our classroom feel like their own. This resource will continue to support learning throughout the school year in so many different ways.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity and for investing in my students.
