Binders Are Here! Learning Has Never Been Better!

My Project

Our school's English department is launching a new initiative to help students acquire and monitor learning and increase retention. It is called the Notebook System. Despite its name, it does not use notebooks but binders to keep papers together and protect them from being bent or torn.

Promoting Learning through the Binder System

When the second semester starts in February 2024, the Notebook/Binder system will also begin. Each student will receive a Table of Contents showing the topics that will be covered in class and the skills they need to master. It also provides a monitoring system detailing whether or not the student has completed the activities and achieved the set goals and standards. In this way, students will become more aware of both their accomplishments and the tasks that still need to be completed and help them enhance their reading annotation skills for improved comprehension. Sample models of annotated works, as well as their outputs, will be compiled for quick reference in the Binder. The Binder will serve as a storehouse for students' evidence of learning and guide them in achieving their learning goals.

Seniors Need Your Assistance

More than ever, Seniors need to further enhance their reading comprehension and writing skills. Through the Notebook/Binder system, seniors can monitor their progress in reading and writing, especially as they reach the stage of preparing for college admission.

Regrettably, the project's funds only cover students enrolled in English 9, 10, and 11. Seniors or English 12 students must purchase or obtain their Binders. This poses a significant problem, as a considerable number of our school's students live in poverty, and acquiring a Binder could already be a financial burden for them. Hence, your generous support to our Seniors would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
