This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are bright eyed and bushy-tailed. (usually) There are times when they come in tired and hungry. They love to learn alongside me. Though sometimes they would rather be outside. (I can't blame them).

We have been learning by attempting to conquer some STEM activities.

Mostly we have learned from our mistakes. I believe that my students would benefit from improving their reading skills.

Reading is fundamental. For some of my students reading has been a challenge that they have not yet overcome. I hope to boost their reading abilities this year and new books in our classroom library will accomplish just that.

My Project

My students will be able to choose from a wide variety of books with your help. I believe that in order to get people reading there must be many different topics available.

I try to get my students to imagine heaven being a place that resembles a library.

My in class library has grown, mostly from thrift stores, to include 1500 titles. However, many of them are not half as exciting as the titles I am asking for here.

Less than half of my books are in Spanish. It is difficult to get my students to read in Spanish when there is not such a wide variety of books in Spanish.
