This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are positive and enthusiastic learners! They love to learn. Every day that they come in, they come with smiles on their faces and ready to take on the day. There is never a day where they do not feel excited about what's ahead.

Being bilingual had shaped the lives and learning environments of my students.

We are in a 90/10 model dual immersion program. My students learn 60% of their day in Spanish and 60% in English. They are taking that step into being culturally and socially aware of the diversity in the world.

My Project

With these book in our class library, my students will become more excited about reading. We do not have many books in our library that are in Spanish. The school library has a limited amount of books in Spanish.

Having their favorite book series in their target language will help grow that love for reading that they thrive for.

Most of my students are English Language Learners, with Spanish as their first language. We are also in a dual immersion program where 60% of our day is in Spanish.

These books will be cared for and loved by all in the classroom. Our read-aloud time and independent reading time will be one of their favorite times of the day. They already love to read, and having these books will grow their interest in books and reading in more than one language.
