Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students are learning all content areas in both Spanish and English. In kindergarten, we are learning letters and sight words to help us start reading. Students that are not reading yet can look for letters and sight words they know. Students that have started reading will be able to share their reading in two languages with their families.

Having books at home in Spanish and English will help them make connections between the languages.

They will become more fluent readers when they practice reading at home and at school.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
