Many of them do not have many books and to get ones they can read some of was amazing. We gave them at their promotion ceremony. Many parents thanked me for encouraging them to read. \r\n\r\nMost of my students earned prizes for reading books. They earned a sticker for each book they read. For every 10 books they read they were able to choose a prize. We had erasers, pencils, bookmarks, pens and more. All of the prizes were Dr. Seuss ones to go with our March reading challenge. Some had motivation and read over 200 books! The dragons were their favorite! They spent an hour in making them and playing with them. They loved the red envelopes. They were able to bring home lucky coins and a red tassel. The PBIS prizes have been very helpful. Students earn tickets and shop for prizes on Fridays. They really enjoyed having something different to choose from.\r\nThe new laminator has been very helpful. You helped me give my students the gift of reading for Christmas. I was able to give a book to every student as part of their Christmas gift from their teacher. Students will be getting another book after Christmas when the remainder of this project ships. It will be great to add to their home book collection. It helps when students can practice reading at home. Students were surprised that the teachers had got something for them. It helped them have a great last day before the break. The foam gliders are a favorite prize for students. They have to save up 20 tickets for a plane. Many are getting another one every time they get to 20 tickets. Students will get stickers or erasers for just 5 tickets. A few of the students like to shop for a prize every week.
