I have not yet used the paint and paper but will in the next couple of weeks. We will be painting the flag of Spain for Hispanic Heritage month. I was able to give all of my students glue sticks to start out the school year. Many of them have needed a second one already. We work hard in kindergarten. We have used the pipe cleaners and wikki stix to make letters. I was able to get a large pack of playgoer to replace the things that were not available. My students have loved playing with playdoh and have made numbers, letters and many creative things as well. They play with it at the end of the day during drive line. Many parents came to school with the wrong journal and I gave them back and was able to say don't worry about it. We have enough primary journals. This surprised many parents and made me feel like I made a difference. All of my students have 2 primary journals to write in. We record many things in science and social studies. \r\nI have also started using the laminating sheets. In kindergarten we laminate everything so this helped me get my data wall ready. I also got the computer cards and many other things ready for the first 2 weeks of school.\r\nI use the sharpeners every day at writing time. I walk around the room and make sure all of their pencils are ready for the day. Not only were we able to use colorful chalk for the last couple months of school but we also have a whole box of chalk to use next school year. The journals will come in handy in the fall. They were left off the school supply list so parents will not know they need them until meet the teacher day. Many parents could not find the correct primary journal in the past few years. Having 40 journals on hand will allow me to tell parents not to worry about the journals. \r\nThis project also funded my take home folders and sheet protectors. It was paired with a couple Dr. Seuss books and given with their certificates for the year. It was fun to watch them play with their paper dragons. We decorated our classroom door as well as the hallway. \r\nThis project also helped students have a goody bag for Valentine's Day. It had squishy balls, pencils, slap bracelets and little air planes. We were completely out and now every time a badge holder breaks we are able to replace it. This also included a pocket chart with word families.
