Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our middle school students often request classic books, a refreshing concept in modern times. Our classic section is sparse and incomplete, taking up half a shelf. These beautiful, special editions will brighten our shelves and their lives as readers, providing a welcome break from the rigors of their academic studies and screen time. I am so proud to witness the tender care students take with the new books thanks to generous donors and foundations that strive to help support our school library.

The tactile experience of holding a book in hand and heart still holds significant importance to the readers at our school and your donation will contribute to their lives in meaningful, delightful, and lasting ways.

The other books in the donation request range from graphic novels to animal fiction to science fiction to adventure to beloved series that comfort and inspire readers. The non-fiction requests will do more than dazzle on the shelves. These titles will enhance their research in the library and provide updated information to support their writing. The music books will appeal to aspiring musicians and the astonishing images of both our natural world and the depths of space may even impact the trajectory of their future studies and careers.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
