My Project

When you walk into my classroom you will see bright, energetic students engaging enthusiastically in activities designed to make them better readers and writers. You will see students working together to break down the meaning of a poem. You will see hands thrust in the air, eager to share ideas about characters and authors' creative choices. You will hear the buzz of learning.

The building blocks of these engaging lessons and activities are quality tools and materials.

I want my students to have markers to annotate ideas on posters during a gallery walk, post-it notes to capture an inference when reading a book, bins to keep handouts organized, pens when they forget a writing utensil at home, and all the other basic supplies that I never take for granted. When I have inspiration for an exciting new learning opportunity, I don't want a lack of classroom supplies to hold me back from making these activities a reality.
