I am 1 of 5 fourth grade teachers at our school. Our students come from diverse linguistic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. But more importantly, they are active, inquisitive, eager, and joyful learners every day. We are truly lucky! These scholars are the future, and I'm excited about being their teacher as they continue on their journey of being lifelong learners.
Help me give my students a classroom designed to fit their growing bodies!
Fourth grade is a year of expanding minds and growing bodies. Elementary school furniture can often feel too small and uncomfortable. My students would love furniture that can adjust in different ways. We all learn best when we are comfortable!
My Project
We WILL return to our classrooms and our students WILL feel a little nervous after staying home for so long. Walking into a classroom redesigned to meet their comfort needs will make the transition so much better!
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them.
During independent work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Before we left the classroom, my students begged for more seating options and I want to fulfill that wish for them. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. With new seating options they will be more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk.
The picnic benches I picked out will be a big hit among the students, they even convert to make 1 picnic table! How perfect for group collaboration! The high top table will allow my long legged friends work in comfort and feel sophisticated. The stability balls will help my most active learners bounce away, but more importantly in one place for safety!
Now more than ever, students will crave flexible seating when they return to the classroom setting. Thank you for supporting student learning now and in the future. There will always be a need to help teachers and students prepare for the future.
