My Students

I have the wonderful privilege of teaching life skills to 7 severe special needs students, all of which have autism. Each of these students are learning the basic skills to function in society such as talking, using the bathroom, and growing to love learning. It is so fun to see them progress. Recently, I had a student tell me what they wanted rather than pointing at the object. It was a small thing for most but was a stride of progress for him. Those with special needs have a capacity to love that is far grander than most. Each day in the classroom, no matter how hard it is I feel loved and appreciated by them.

My kids are special and deserve to have people cheering them on in their educational journey.

My Project

First off, I am requesting tablets to help my students be able to learn and complete assignments in a way that is comfortable to them. All of my students perform better and prefer using a tablet to complete their work.

All of the students in my classroom have autism, and they have special needs which need special attention.

With this project, I am also requesting materials and lesson plans to help differentiate lessons and their school work more towards them.

And last of all, I am wanting to get learning toys and toys my students can fidget with to help them stay focused on their work.
