This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Strength and conditioning are a huge part of being a competitive athlete. As a long-time personal trainer and coach, I could use equipment like this to train my athletes with sport-specific exercises that directly affect and improve their ability on the court. This equipment will be used by the athletes on my Tennis team to develop and enhance their athletic abilities. The PLYO-BOXES will be used to train explosiveness and deceleration, which are movements that are continuously used in Tennis. The MEDICINE BALLS will be used to develop rotational strength and multi-planar functional strength. The RESISTANCE BANDS will be used to train lateral movement speed, change of direction recovery, as well as full body strength training. All of these movements are directly related to the movements demanded on the court in Tennis and will help improve my athlete's strength and movement on the court during their matches. They have never been introduced to any kind of fitness and our weight room is not big enough to accommodate all of our sports and athletes. Having this equipment specifically for our Tennis Team would allow us to make better use of our time as I incorporate fitness into our drills that directly correlate to their game, thus maximizing our training and practice time!
