Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I'd like to purchase these STEAM materials for my students so that I can integrate hands-on activities into our social studies and science lessons.

Students will be guided through these STEAM activities that will encourage teamwork and communication strategies to make meaningful connections to their instructional concepts.

We will be exploring the Earth, the human body, Egyptian history and astronomy. I would like my students to build on their conceptual knowledge of our bodies by working with large magnetic human body parts. Students will use the hieroglyph stamps to learn about Egyptian writing and practice writing words using the hieroglyphs. This will solidify their understanding of Egyptian writing. The magnetic solar system will be used as a visual and hands-on resource to support our astronomy unit. The modeling clay will be used by pairs of students to create Earth's interior layers. All of these resources will be used by my students to build on and support their learning.
