Inquisitiveness. Uniqueness. Ingenuity. Persistence. These are just a few things that I love about my students. Despite being from a Title I school and coming from low-income families, these students come to school every single day with a positive attitude and ready to explore learning.
Out-of-the-box, creative thinkers describe the thinking process for my students.
They never allow obstacles to stand in their way. They never give up, pushing through difficult task with extreme grace and tenacity. My students embrace learning every day with vivaciousness and zeal and are eager to be successful in the world around them.
My Project
Being digital learners is a critical element in education today. Much of what students do is accessed via technology. Donating to this project will help me prepare my students for the tech savvy world we live in today. Students will be able to access digital portfolios using the Amazon Fire Tablets to complete assignments, respond to journal prompts, record themselves reading, and respond to peer work.
Using tablets, students will be able to access engaging and rigorous learning opportunities when direct instruction is not occurring.
With the assistance of the Amazon Fire Tablets, I will be able to pre-record instructions, directions, and activities for students to complete and share with me and each other.
The Amazon Fire Tablets will allow students to access e-books to read, photograph their independent reading and describe what has been learned through reading, analyze and critique math problems, allow for hands-on manipulation, and develop the critical digital literacy that is necessary in the advancing digital world that we navigate today.
