My students are eager to learn and enjoy coming to school each day. They are very active and energetic students. They love to be hands-on, creative and active in their learning.
They live in a city in northern Vermont and come from diverse backgrounds.
We have different family structures and ethnicities represented in our classroom including students from Nepal, Bosnia, Croatia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sudan, Tanzania, and many other places. Students also come from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, but that doesn't stop their love of learning. The students are happy to come to school each day and love to learn.
My Project
My students love to learn and are excited to come to school each day, but our classroom budgets only take us so far. It is amazing with shipping costs how quickly a budget can disappear. It seems like each year teachers are forced to choose between books, basic supplies or replacing old manipulatives like stopwatches.
I am hoping to get basic supplies my students need to help them to be successful on a daily basis.
With your help, I can provide my students with the materials they need to write stories, practice spelling words, solve math problems, express their creativity and much more. If students were to be able to have all these supplies, I am excited to see the books they would be able to create.
We would also love to each be able to have our own boxes of colored pencils as well as more construction paper for art projects. Each day at snack, kids are hard at work creating and making different things. Sometimes it is a seasonal scene that stretches across the bay windows, other times it is small decorations for a dollhouse they have created with recycling. Whatever their current project, I'd love for them to have the tape, coloring supplies, and construction paper.
