Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach an amazing group of kindergartners at a K-2 school in Tolleson, Arizona. We are a small district but our students have big dreams and we are committed to helping them reach them. Due to current world events, most of my kinders have left home for the very first time this year. They arrived scared and confused, but they are learning new things every day and now, they are excited to come to school!

My Project

Students need paper, pencils, markers, masks, and crayons just to be able to complete their schoolwork and they need masks that will keep them healthy. Many of our students' families struggle to provide food, clothing, and shelter for their students and have little left to give to the classroom, so the teacher is often left to purchase these supplies on their own.

These basic necessities will ensure that all the Kindergarten students at our school are able to participate, stay healthy, and be successful with their learning!
