Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Welcome to our school, where we are beginning a lifetime of education for our future leaders. We are a mix of kindergarten, first and second-grade students. We are a very diverse population of varying socioeconomic status, but we all share a common goal: to do our very best to learn and reach our full potential each and every day!

We are in desperate need of basic classroom supplies.

Our district is a Title One school, which means that more than forty percent of our population is below the poverty level.

Many of our students are eligible for free breakfast and lunch. A large majority of the students are ENL (English as a New Language) learners. We are teaching our students to be mindful of themselves, one another, and the community that surrounds us.

There are still three months of school left, however, our students are all out of basic coloring supplies and writing utensils. We are asking for donations of sharpened pencils and markers to our classroom so that students can continue doing their best learning with the bare essentials.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
